Introduction
Pakistan is located on crossroads of Central Asia and Western Asia in South Asia , as a federal parliamentary republic . As per the various economists of the world, Pakistan has been part of the wealthiest region throughout the first millennium, having the largest economy by GDP. This advantage was lost in the 18th century as other regions edged forward such as China and Western Europe.
Future Economy
Pakistan being a developing country having the fastest emerging economy in the 21st century.
However, after decades of social instability, as of 2013, serious deficiencies in macro management
and unbalanced macroeconomics in basic services, such as train transportation, road transportation,
electrical energy generation, basic utility services had developed. Now, the economy is being
considered to be semi-industrialized, with centers of growth along the Indus River. The diversified
economies of Karachi and Punjab's urban centers (Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sialkot,
Gujranwala, etc.) coexist with less developed areas in other parts of the country particularly in
Baluchistan. According to the Economic complexity index, Pakistan is among 80 largest export economy
and the 106th most complex economy. During the FY 2019, Pakistan's exports stood at USD24.217
billion and imports at USD50.063 billion, resulting in a negative trade balance of USD25.94 billion.
